Meet the Coaches

roth-and-nally Ms. Nally and Mrs. Roth have been College Board certified AP Language and Composition teachers at Mason High School for more than a decade. Mrs. Roth is in her 20th year of teaching and Ms. Nally has been teaching for 11 years. They have met with admissions officers from some of the top schools in the nation, including Ivy League schools like Yale and Harvard, to learn exactly what colleges are looking for in the college essay.

We frequently speak at local College 101 nights and have worked diligently over the years to meet with college admissions officers locally, regionally and nationally.

Working students through the college application process has become a passion of ours. We formed Write Now! in response to the growing need we saw for one-on-one student feedback and coaching that could not be provided in a large classroom setting. We love what we do and enjoy watching students find out about themselves through this process.

George Valcarcel:

Roth and Nally [helped me find] my own distinct voice. Beyond answering a prompt, they offered a supportive, family atmosphere, with fun and encouragement, to get me to achieve my goals (applying to 11 colleges).

Acceptances: Cornell University, Harvard College, University of Cincinnati, The Ohio State University, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, University of Virginia, Case Western Reserve University, Vanderbilt University

Elaine Louden:

I will be attending the Ohio State University on a full tuition Morrill Scholarship and I definitely couldn’t have gotten this scholarship without Roth and Nally’s help. Their comments helped me express myself in my writing, rather than being just another number on a paper. Instead of writing to appeal to colleges, I wrote to showcase me.

Acceptances: South Carolina, University of Miami, University of Cincinnati, OSU
